Latvia is a stated of Eastern Europe, bordering the Baltic Sea, between Estonia and Lithuania. The country has more than 12000 rivers which principals are Daugava, Lielupe and the Gauja, and is covered with about 3000 lakes. Latvia is divided in 4 counties : Vidzemia (Livonia), Latgale, Zemgale and Kurzeme (Courlande) . The principal habours are Liepaja and Ventspils. Most of the country is composed of fertile, low-lying plains, with some hills in the east. In Riga temperatures goes from -10°C to -4°C in january to 11°C to 22°C in july.
